Summary

The objective of this article is to analyze the works (writings and speeches) of Álvaro García Linera, vice president of Bolivia and one of the most outstanding representatives of current critical thinking. We seek to account for his theoretical position, his relationship with other intellectuals, his conceptual device (the use of concepts of class and class struggle, of correlation of forces in the political dimension, of power bloc, of hegemony, of social movements) and the contribution of his concrete analyzes. Finally, we try to identify what is the value or the specific merit of the sociological reflection of this Bolivian intellectual and politician.
