As concepções de ruptura revolucionária em Immanuel Wallerstein e Ruy Marini em perspectiva comparada

Abstract

In recent years debates around dependency theory and world-systems analysis have grown substantially in Brazil. The discussions in the country around the convergence/ divergence between the two currents of thought are very interesting. In this sense, the main objective of this text is to compare Immanuel Wallerstein's conception of revolutionary rupture with that of Ruy Mauro Marini, the main exponents of the afore mentioned currents. We consider this to be one of the most controversial issues, but also the least debated. Such a debate can only be understood in the light of the theoretical and methodological references of both authors. Thus, the text initially goes through the presentation of how each author conceives the revolutionary transformation, in order to compare them and evaluate the political consequences of a theoretical approach.
