Abstract

This article analyzes education in Vietnam as an ideological battleground in the face of imperialism. It is argued that the State mobilizes 'school culture' to mediate the contradiction between the demands of the market economy and the preservation of the socialist project. Based on official documents and the curricular architecture of political theory, it is argued that educational reform instrumentalizes Marxism-Leninism as a strategy to ensure ideological hegemony and to form subjects capable of competing technically without renouncing socialist orientation. It also discusses contemporary tensions and challenges.
